A color was a solo exhibition by Beatriz Rivas (Mexico City, 1986), bringing together a selection of prints produced over recent years at Taller Gráfica Libre in Zaachila, Oaxaca.
The exhibition offered a sensory journey through techniques the artist practices, including monotype, printmaking, collage, and frottage. It emphasized color as a defining feature of her work and approached printmaking as a territory in continual expansion.
With extensive experience as an artist, master printer, and educator, Rivas has developed a distinctive artistic language within Oaxaca's contemporary printmaking scene, leaning toward an abstract and exploratory approach.
Her work reflects a deep commitment to developing and refining techniques and formats. With her partner, the artist Adrián Aguirre, she has established Taller Gráfica Libre as a significant place for print production and education in the region.
