Translated from Nidia Rosales’s original Spanish portfolio.
The first exhibition in ¿Quién habita el territorio? drew on the idea of healing landscapes: practices of healing associated with natural spaces. Rivers, lakes, mountains, caves, and fields can act as places of physical, mental, and spiritual healing for individuals and communities.
This collective exhibition at RABIA, an abandoned pool in the center of Oaxaca de Juárez, appealed to the transformative effect of sensory perception through installations and sound performances.
The pool's history was marked by family and emotional bonds. Participating artists created new works that inhabited this remnant of another time through their own memories and sensibilities.
